Deep ruby colour, pronounced aromas of black cherry, raisins, dried herbs and spices.
Hints of cloves and black pepper coming from oak ageing are interlaced with a pleasant touch of leather from the time in the bottle. Dry on the palate, it has balanced acidity with refined medium tannins and a long finish.
Due to tannins, this wine is a good match for equally robust foods, such as game and other hearty meat dishes or strong cheeses.
Try with venison or rabbit stew, herb-marinated lamb chops or strong cheeses, such as aged Gruyère or Roquefort.
